Chiaki Matsumura/Yasumasa Tanida (Nagano, JPN) won 8-7 over Tori Koana/Go Aoki (Yamanashi, JPN) in the Final of the Japan Mixed Doubles National Championship, held February 21 - 26, 2023 in . To advance to the championship game, Matsumura/Tanida won 7-6 over Yurika Yoshida/Yuta Matsumura (Kitami, JPN) in the semifinals of the 2023 Japan Mixed Doubles National Championship in ; and won 7-3 over Japan's Mika Okuyama/Hiroto Naba in the quarterfinals.
 
Matsumura/Tanida finished 6-0 in the 21-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Matsumura/Tanida defeated Hinako Sonobe/Ryo Ogihara (Karuizawa, JPN) 11-2, then won 12-1 against Japan's Tamami Horiuchi/Takahito Tomiyasu and 9-8 against Chinami Yoshida/Tetsuro Shimizu (Kitami, JPN). Matsumura/Tanida won 8-5 against Kohane Tsuruga/Takaaki Minami (Sapporo, JPN), then won 14-2 against Yukari Ido/Takahiro Ido (Okayama, JPN) and 8-2 against Japan's Arisa Funaki/Yuto Kamada in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Japan Mixed Doubles National Championship Championship title, Matsumura/Tanida earned 18.750 world rankings points, dropping 19 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 742nd place overall with 120.654 total points.
