Manuel won 7-4 against Mike McEwen (Saskatoon, SK), then won 11-5 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB). Manuel went on to lose 7-5 against Shane Latimer (Iqaluit, NU). Manuel responded with a 6-5 win over Jean-Michel Arsenault (Levis, QC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Manuel earned 13.500 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. Manuel move up 8 spots after posting a net gain of 12.375 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 54th overall with 61.500 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
