Sundberg Runner-Up at 2023 Match Town Trophy

Tova Sundberg (Ostersund, SWE) lost 9-4 to Xenia Schwaller (Zurich, SUI) in the Final of the Match Town Trophy, held October 12 - 15, 2023 in Jonkoping, Sweden. To advance to the championship game, Sundberg won 6-4 over Moa Dryburgh (Stockholm, SWE) in the semifinals of the 2023 Match Town Trophy in Jonkoping, Sweden; and won 7-6 over Emma Moberg (Mjolby, SWE) in the quarterfinals. of the 2023 Match Town Trophy in Jonkoping, Sweden;

Sundberg finished 2-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sundberg lost 9-2 to Schwaller, then responded with a 7-5 win over Anna Kubeskova (Prague, CZE). Sundberg won 10-3 against Amanda Halvarsson (Sundbyberg, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Match Town Trophy, Sundberg take home 11.000 world rankings points along with the $1,500CDN prize. For week 12 of the event schedule, Sundberg did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Sundberg ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
