Cory Thiesse/Korey Dropkin (Duluth, MN) won 6-1 over Paige Papley/Evan van Amsterdam (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the Rocky Mountain Mixed Doubles Classic, held January 4 - 7, 2024 at the Banff Curling Club in Banff, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Thiesse/Dropkin won 9-1 over Jaelyn Cotter/Jim Cotter (Vernon, BC) in the semifinals of the 2024 Rocky Mountain Mixed Doubles Classic in Banff, Alberta, Canada; and won 8-5 over Amanda Sluchinski/Aaron Sluchinski (Airdrie, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2024 Rocky Mountain Mixed Doubles Classic in Banff, Alberta, Canada;
Thiesse/Dropkin finished 5-0 in the 30-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Thiesse/Dropkin defeated Jennifer Sachkiw/Ryan Jacques (Banff, AB) 10-2, then won 9-4 against Roxie Trembath/Sean Grassie (Winnipeg, MB) and 8-1 against Alyssa Nedohin/David Nedohin (Sherwood Park, AB). Thiesse/Dropkin won 7-4 against Selena Sturmay/Kyler Kleibrink (Edmonton, AB), then won 9-3 against Tahli Gill/Dean Hewitt (Brisbane, AUS) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Rocky Mountain Mixed Doubles Classic Championship title, Thiesse/Dropkin earned 30.000 world rankings points along with the $8,000CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 806th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 107.126 total points. Thiesse/Dropkin ranks 13th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 67.188 points earned so far this season.
