In their opening game, Burton defeated Adam Fenton (New Westminster, BC) 7-6, then won 11-2 against Lowell Whittmire (Castor, AB) and 7-6 against Peter Hlushak (Edmonton, AB). Burton went on to lose 8-7 against Adam Elsenheimer (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
