Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA) lost 7-6 to Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) in the Final of the Princess Auto Players' Championship, held April 9 - 14, 2024 in Toronto, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Retornaz won 6-5 over Mike McEwen (Saskatoon, SK) in the semifinals of the Princess Auto Players' Championship in Toronto, Ontario; and won 7-2 over Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in the quarterfinals. of the Princess Auto Players' Championship in Toronto, Ontario;

Retornaz finished 3-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Retornaz lost 9-7 to McEwen, droppimg another game, 7-4 to Matt Dunstone (Winnipeg, MB) where Retornaz responded with a 6-3 win over Yannick Schwaller (Geneva, SUI). Retornaz won 8-4 against James Craik (Forfar, SCO), then won 8-7 against Ross Whyte (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Princess Auto Players' Championship, Retornaz take home 55.000 world rankings points along with the $35,000CDN prize, remaining in 1st place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 25.25 after improving upon their best so far this season. Retornaz ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 440.500 points earned so far this season.
