Aidos Alliyar (Almaty, KAZ) finished 1-5 in the 22-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Alliyar lost 9-4 to Selahattin Eser (Erzurum, TUR), droppimg another game, 4-1 to Matthaus Hofer (Kitzbuehel, AUT) where Alliyar responded with a 5-4 win over Antoni Frynia (Lodz, POL). Alliyar went on to lose 7-2 against Johnson Tao (Edmonton, CAN). Alliyar lost 6-2 to Eduard Nikolov (Kyiv, UKR). Alliyar lost 9-2 to Ryo Aoki (Sapporo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

Alliyar earned 0.375 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 22 of the event schedule, Alliyar did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Alliyar ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
