Barone finished 4-1 in the 25-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Barone defeated Melania Kovacikova (Bratislava, SVK) 14-2, then won 14-2 against Yaroslava Kalinichenko (Kyiv, UKR) and 6-3 against Lina Opel (Kent, ENG). Barone went on to lose 6-3 against Linda Joo (Budapest, HUN). Barone responded with a 8-3 win over Rachael Pitts (Naseby, NZL) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Barone ranks 121st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 11.500 points earned so far this season.
