Kawahara went on to lose 9-2 against Yuka Takimoto (Chubu, JPN). Kawahara responded with a 6-4 win over Mayumi Mori (Chubu, JPN). Kawahara went on to lose 8-4 against Aoi Watanabe (Chubu, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

Kawahara earned 0.375 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 21 of the event schedule, Kawahara did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Kawahara ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
