Ryo Wakabayashi (Okayama, JPN) lost 6-4 to Hiromitsu Fujinaka (Okayama, JPN) in the Final of the Nishi-Nihon Curling Championship, held December 2 - 4, 2023 in Okayama, Japan. To advance to the championship game, Wakabayashi won 12-3 over Ryo Shioya (Okayama, JPN) in the semifinals
 
Wakabayashi finished 3-0 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Wakabayashi defeated Fujinaka 4-1, then won 10-3 against Kenichi Nakagawa (Okayama, JPN) and 7-4 against Shuhei Takamatsu (Okayama, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Nishi-Nihon Curling Championship, Wakabayashi take home 2.750 world rankings points. For week 19 of the event schedule, Wakabayashi did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Wakabayashi ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
