Shioya finished 1-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Shioya lost 8-4 to Okamoto, droppimg another game, 6-4 to Masatoshi Fukuoka (Okayama, JPN) where Shioya responded with a 6-4 win over Takuma Shimoji (Okayama, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their fourth place finish at the Nishi-Nihon Curling Championship, Shioya take home 1.500 world rankings points. For week 19 of the event schedule, Shioya did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Shioya ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
