Mac Calwell (Belleville, ON) finished 3-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Calwell defeated John McCutcheon (Toronto, ON) 7-6, then won 6-2 against Greg Balsdon (Richmond Hill, ON) and 8-2 against Ken McCulloch (Campbellford, ON) to advance to a A-Qualifier game where they lost 8-7 against Travis Fanset (Brantford, ON) to drop into a B-Qualifier game where they lost 6-5 to Balsdon in their final qualifying round match.

Calwell earned 1.125 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 24 of the event schedule, Calwell did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Calwell ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
