James Craik (Forfar, SCO) lost 7-6 to Ross Whyte (Stirling, SCO) in the Final of the Scottish Curling Championships, held February 4 - 10, 2024 in Dumfries, Scotland. To advance to the championship game, Craik won 9-1 over Bruce Mouat (STIRLING, SCO) in the semifinals of the 2024 Scottish Curling Championships in Dumfries, Scotland;
 
Craik finished 6-2 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Craik defeated Ross Craik (Stirling, SCO) 6-2, then won 6-3 against Kyle Waddell (Hamilton, SCO) and 6-4 against Arran Thomson (Perth, SCO). Craik won 8-1 against Gavin Cameron (Moray, SCO). Craik went on to lose 10-8 against Whyte. Craik lost 6-5 to Orrin Carson (Stirling, SCO) where Craik responded with a 9-2 win over Fraser Swanston (Forfar, SCO). Craik won 7-3 against Mouat in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Scottish Curling Championships, Craik take home 30.250 world rankings points. Craik move up 4 spots after posting a net gain of 21.25 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 9th overall with 199.750 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Craik ranks 9th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 199.750 points earned so far this season.
