Smith won 7-2 against Kristen MacDiarmid (Halifax, NS), then won 5-3 against Tanya Hilliard (Dartmouth, NS) and 8-3 against Jessica Daigle (Halifax, NS) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Nova Scotia Scotties Championship title, Smith earned 11.250 world rankings points.
