Reid Zingel (Victoria, BC) finished 1-4 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Zingel lost 10-4 to Josh Bryden (Regina, SK), then responded with a 12-7 win over Sam Nygaard (Lethbridge, AB). Zingel went on to lose 8-5 against Johnson Tao (Edmonton, AB). Zingel lost 10-3 to Kenan Wipf (Calgary, AB). Zingel lost 7-5 to Osten Sahulka (Brandon, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
