Aoi Watanabe (Chubu, JPN) finished 1-3 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Watanabe lost 11-3 to Miyu Ueno (Karuizawa, JPN), droppimg another game, 9-3 to Ikue Kitazawa (Nagano, JPN) where Watanabe responded with a 9-3 win over Riho Zaikan (Okayama, JPN). Watanabe went on to lose 12-3 against Yuna Kotani (Sapporo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

Watanabe earned 2.063 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 28 of the event schedule, Watanabe did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
