Lars Ahlberg (Sundbyberg, SWE) finished 1-3 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ahlberg lost 7-4 to Johan Nygren (Umea, SWE), droppimg another game, 9-4 to Jonas Eden (Goteborg, SWE) where Ahlberg responded with a 10-9 win over Magnus Heldin (Uppsala, SWE). Ahlberg went on to lose 8-2 against Mats Wrana (Sundbyberg, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.

Ahlberg earned 0.375 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 28 of the event schedule, Ahlberg did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Ahlberg ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
