Marco Hoesli (Glarus, SUI) finished 5-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hoesli defeated Manuel Jermann (Arlesheim, SUI) 6-2, then went on to lose 8-7 against Switzerland's Andrin Schnider. Hoesli lost 5-3 to Yannick Schwaller (Geneve, SUI) where Hoesli responded with a 6-2 win over Jan Iseli (Solothun, SUI). Hoesli won 5-4 against Michael Brunner (Bern, SUI), then won 9-5 against Yves Stocker (Zug, SUI) and 8-4 against Jan Tanner (Zug, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
