Scott Howard (Navan, ON) finished 4-3 in the 28-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Howard defeated Takumi Maeda (Tokoro, JPN) 10-1, then won 4-2 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL). Howard went on to lose 4-2 against Marco Hoesli (Glarus, SUI). Howard responded with a 6-3 win over Magnus Ramsfjell (Trondheim, NOR). Howard went on to lose 7-3 against Mark Kean (Woodstock, ON). Howard responded with a 6-5 win over Sam Mooibroek (Whitby, ON) to advance to a C-Qualifier game where they lost 6-3 against Joel Retornaz (Cembra, ITA) in their final qualifying round match.

Howard earned 10.500 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 12 of the event schedule, Howard did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Howard ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
