Cory Thiesse (Chaska, USA) finished 3-4 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Thiesse lost 9-2 to Rachel Homan (Ottawa, CAN), then responded with a 10-2 win over Adriana Camarena (Mexico City, MEX). Thiesse went on to lose 6-5 against Miyu Ueno (Karuizawa, JPN). Thiesse lost 10-8 to Eun ji Gim (Gyeonggido, KOR) where Thiesse responded with a 6-2 win over Chelsea Suddens (Naseby, NZL). Thiesse won 19-0 against Ko Yang (Taipei City, TPE). Thiesse went on to lose 9-4 against Rui Wang (Beijing, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.

Thiesse earned 6.750 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 14 of the event schedule, Thiesse did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Thiesse ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
