In their opening game, Retchless defeated Richard Hills (Kent, ENG) 14-3, then won 8-3 against Owen Rees (Kent, ENG) and 8-4 against Ian Gasson (Kent, ENG). Retchless won 7-3 against Richard Cooper (Preston, ENG), then won 6-3 against Andrew Reed (Kent, ENG) and 8-3 against Fraser Clark (Kent, ENG). Retchless won 9-2 against Clark in their final qualifying round match.
