Richard Hills (Kent, ENG) finished 2-4 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hills lost 14-3 to Rob Retchless (Kent, ENG), droppimg another game, 8-4 to Ian Gasson (Kent, ENG). Hills lost 8-7 to Fraser Clark (Kent, ENG) where Hills responded with a 10-4 win over Richard Cooper (Preston, ENG). Hills went on to lose 8-4 against Andrew Reed (Kent, ENG). Hills responded with a 10-4 win over Owen Rees (Kent, ENG) in their final qualifying round match.

Hills earned 0.375 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 31 of the event schedule, Hills did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Hills ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
