Schwaller finished 3-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Schwaller lost 8-3 to Yves Stocker (Oberwallis, SUI), then responded with a 8-4 win over Wouter Gosgens (Zoetermeer, NED). Schwaller won 8-3 against Ross Whyte (Stirling, SCO), then won 10-1 against Norway's Lukas Hostmaelingen in their final qualifying round match.
