Krysta Burns (Sudbury, NO) finished 1-3 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Burns lost 13-3 to Sayaka Yoshimura (Sapporo, JPN), then responded with a 5-4 win over Lauren Mann (North Bay, NO). Burns went on to lose 7-3 against Kayla Skrlik (Calgary, AB). Burns lost 9-2 to Laurie St-Georges (Montreal, QC) in their final qualifying round match.

Burns earned 2.250 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 6 of the event schedule, Burns did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Burns ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
