Ben Kiist (Edmonton, AB) finished 5-3 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kiist defeated Kinley Burton (St. Albert, AB) 11-3, then won 8-4 against Kenan Wipf (Calgary, AB). Kiist went on to lose 11-10 against Lowell Whittmire (Castor, AB). Kiist responded with a 9-3 win over Zach Davies (Edmonton, AB). Kiist won 12-4 against Peter Hlushak (Edmonton, AB). Kiist went on to lose 8-7 against Timothy Marin (Sherwood Park, AB). Kiist lost 10-3 to Terren Algot (Sherwood Park, AB) where Kiist responded with a 9-4 win over Nolan Duncan (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Kiist earned 0.938 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 33 of the event schedule, Kiist did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Kiist ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
