In their opening game, Munro/Whyte lost 10-4 to Therese Westman/Robin Ahlberg (Sundbyberg, SWE), droppimg another game, 9-2 to Ying Yang/Jiafeng Tian (Beijing, CHN) where Munro/Whyte responded with a 8-5 win over Emma Mueller/Martin Seiwald (Kitzbuehel, AUT). Munro/Whyte won 7-4 against Tiina Suuripaa/Markus Sipila (Hyvinkaa, FIN), then won 8-6 against Fay Henderson/Grant Hardie (Stirling, GBR). Munro/Whyte went on to lose 10-3 against Almida de Val/Daniel Magnusson (Sundbyberg/Karlstad, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Munro/Whyte earned 6.188 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins.
