Fenton lost 7-6 to Parker Tipple (St. John's, NL) where Fenton responded with a 14-3 win over Adam Bedard (Noranda, QC). Fenton won 9-8 against Jamie Stewart (Fredericton, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Fenton earned 1.500 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 12 spots the World Ranking Standings into 156th place overall with 11.188 total points. Fenton ranks 157th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 11.188 points earned so far this season.
