Alex Duncan-Wu (Salmon Arm, BC) 8-5, then won 7-6 against Jack MacFayden (Summerside, PEI). Deschene went on to lose 7-6 against Kenan Wipf (Calgary, AB). Deschene lost 11-5 to Calan MacIsaac (Truro, NS) where Deschene responded with a 8-5 win over Jace Freeman (Virden, MB). Deschene went on to lose 9-3 against Brendan Rajala (Sudbury, NO). Deschene lost 10-6 to Kibo Mulima (Guelph, ON). Deschene lost 8-7 to Timothy Marin (Sherwood Park, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Deschene earned 1.125 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins.
