In their opening game, Austgarden defeated Chris Rees (Toronto, ON) 7-3, then won 10-4 against Rodney Pederson (Moose Jaw, SK) and 11-1 against Mike Fitzgerald (Saint John, NB). Austgarden went on to lose 6-4 against Carroll. Austgarden responded with a 8-1 win over Martin Purvis (Calgary, AB). Austgarden went on to lose 11-1 against Gil Dash (Moose Jaw, SK).
