In their opening game, Laycock defeated Jacob Libbus (Black Diamond, AB) 5-4, then went on to lose 6-1 against Mike McEwen (Saskatoon, SK). Laycock responded with a 6-4 win over Ethan Sampson (Chaska, MN). Laycock went on to lose 7-4 against Jordon McDonald (Winnipeg, MB). Laycock lost 6-3 to Brent Pierce (New Westminister, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

Laycock earned 3.750 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 6 of the event schedule, Laycock did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Laycock ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
