To advance to the championship game, Tao won 5-4 over Josh Bryden (Regina, SK) in the semifinals of the 2024 Saville U25 Challenge in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; and won 6-3 over Peter Hlushak (Spruce Grove, AB) in the quarterfinals.
Tao finished 2-0 in the 13-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Tao defeated Hlushak 4-2, then won 6-4 against Bryden in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Saville U25 Challenge, Tao take home 5.500 world rankings points along with the $1,400CDN prize. For week 17 of the event schedule, Tao did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Tao ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
