Niklas Edin (Karlstad , SWE) finished 6-3 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Edin defeated
Lukas Klima (Prague, CZE) 9-6, then went on to lose 6-5 against Yannick Schwaller (Geneve, SUI). Edin responded with a 7-3 win over Joel Retornaz (Cembra, ITA). Edin went on to lose 6-5 against Marc Muskatewitz (Fuessen, GER). Edin responded with a 9-8 win over Magnus Ramsfjell (Trondheim, NOR). Edin won 7-6 against Mathias Genner (Kitzbuehel, AUT), then won 8-3 against Rob Retchless (Preston , ENG) and 9-6 against Wouter Gosgens (Zoetermeer, NED). Edin went on to lose 11-7 against Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
