Don Bowser (Buckingham, QC) finished 3-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Bowser defeated Martin Begin (Laval-sur-la-lac, QC) 7-5, then won 8-2 against Ethan McAlear (Montreal, QC) and 6-2 against Adam Bedard (Noranda, QC) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Tournoi Equinoxe Open Championship title, Bowser earned 3.750 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 8 of the event schedule, Bowser did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Bowser ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
