Maeda finished 5-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Maeda defeated Johnson Tao (Edmonton, AB) 4-2, then went on to lose 7-3 against McEwen. Maeda responded with a 8-5 win over Anton Hood (Naseby, NZL). Maeda went on to lose 5-2 against Rylan Kleiter (Saskatoon, SK). Maeda responded with a 6-4 win over Sixten Totzek (Fuessen, GER). Maeda won 7-4 against Shinya Abe (Sapporo, JPN), then won 9-4 against Wouter Gosgens (Zoetermeer, NED) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Maeda earned 16.500 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the ATB Okotoks Classic. For week 8 of the event schedule, Maeda did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Maeda ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
