Sarah-Jane Sass (Winnipeg, MB) finished 1-3 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sass lost 5-2 to Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN), droppimg another game, 7-1 to Krista McCarville (Thunder Bay, NO) where Sass responded with a 9-3 win over Allie Giroux (Chaska, MN). Sass went on to lose 7-4 against Rachel Workin (Fargo, ND) in their final qualifying round match.

Sass earned 1.500 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 8 of the event schedule, Sass did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Sass ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
