To advance to the championship game, Kitazawa won 7-4 over Mayu Minami (Sapporo, JPN) in the semifinals of the 2024 Wakkanai Midori Challenge Cup in Wakkanai, Japan;
 
Kitazawa finished 4-0 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kitazawa defeated Yuina Miura (Nayoro, JPN) 8-4, then won 7-4 against Momoha Tabata (Sapporo, JPN) and 12-5 against Wakaba Kawamura (Obihiro, JPN). Kitazawa won 10-2 against Honoka Sasaki (Kitami, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Wakkanai Midori Challenge Cup Championship title, Kitazawa earned 18.750 world rankings points. For week 2 of the event schedule, Kitazawa did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Kitazawa ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
