Yanagisawa finished 3-0 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Yanagisawa defeated Taia Nakahara (Kitami, JPN) 10-1, then won 7-5 against JaeBeom Lee (Uiseong, KOR) and 6-5 against Hirata in their final qualifying round match.
