Wharry finished 3-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Wharry defeated Kelsey Boyd (Montreal, QC) 8-2, then won 4-3 against Mathieu Gravel (Val d'Or, QC) and 6-5 against Pier-Luc Trepanier (Montreal, QC) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Invitation Valleyfield, Wharry take home 5.500 world rankings points along with the $1,800CDN prize.
