Tabata went on to lose 6-5 against Sayaka Yoshimura (Sapporo, JPN). Tabata responded with a 11-5 win over Fujisawa. Tabata went on to lose 8-7 against Yoshimura in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the ZEH-NOH Japan Curling Championship, Tabata take home 33.000 world rankings points.
