Takumi Maeda (Tokoro, JPN) finished 4-5 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Maeda defeated Natsu Kikuchi (Hokkaido, JPN) 6-5, then went on to lose 6-4 against Riku Yanagisawa (Karuizawa, JPN). Maeda lost 7-6 to Ryutaro Tani (Tokyo, JPN) where Maeda responded with a 4-3 win over Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN). Maeda went on to lose 6-5 against Shinya Abe (Sapporo, JPN). Maeda responded with a 7-3 win over Rui Matsuura (Nagano, JPN). Maeda won 10-6 against Kohsuke Hirata (Kitami, JPN). Maeda went on to lose 5-4 against Abe. Maeda lost 7-5 to Yanagisawa in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the ZEH-NOH Japan Curling Championship, Maeda take home 22.000 world rankings points. Maeda move up 7 spots after posting a net gain of 16.75 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 29th overall with 101.375 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
