Iida finished 2-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Iida lost 7-5 to Kohsuke Hirata (Kitami, JPN), then responded with a 9-0 win over Keita Nishizawa (Sapporo, JPN). Iida won 5-3 against Keita Hayashi (Obihiro, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
