ByeongJin Jeong (Seoul, KOR) finished 4-3 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Jeong defeated Jinhan Yoo (Uiseong, KOR) 19-0, then won 8-3 against GunWoo Park (Incheon, KOR). Jeong went on to lose 9-7 against JaeBeom Lee (Uiseong, KOR). Jeong responded with a 14-6 win over Jihoo Yoon (Bongmyeong, KOR). Jeong went on to lose 6-2 against Jongduk Park (Gangwon, KOR). Jeong responded with a 9-0 win over Soo-Hyuk Kim (Gyeongbuk, KOR). Jeong went on to lose 0-0 against Lee in their final qualifying round match.

Jeong earned 3.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 1 of the event schedule, Jeong did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Jeong ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
