To advance to the championship game, Kelly won 6-2 over Peter Smith (Perth, SCO) in the semifinals of the 2002 Ramada Jarvis Masters in Perth, Scotland; and won 4-3 over David Mundell (Galleon, SCO) in the quarterfinals. of the 2002 Ramada Jarvis Masters in Perth, Scotland;
 
Kelly finished 5-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kelly lost 6-4 to David Murdoch (Lockerbie, SCO), then responded with a 9-4 win over Martin Sutherland (Kinross, SCO). Kelly won 6-2 against Paul Stevenson (Aberdeen, SCO), then won 6-0 against De Boer. Kelly went on to lose 8-4 against Murdoch. Kelly responded with a 5-3 win over Tom Brewster (Greenacres, SCO) to advance to the C-Qualifier where they 7-2 against Denmark's Ulrik Schmidt to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
