Kang won 7-4 against Cheyenne Ehnes (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the MCT Showdown Championship title, Kang earned 15.000 world rankings points along with the $2,500CDN first prize cheque. Kang move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 8.812 points improving upon their best 5 results so far this season, ranking 37th overall with 96.235 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
