Kang finished 4-0 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kang defeated Rachel Kaatz (Winnipeg, MB) 4-2, then won 6-5 against Nancy Martin (Saskatoon, SK) and 6-2 against Hailey McFarlane (Winnipeg, MB). Kang won 7-4 against Cheyenne Ehnes (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the MCT Showdown Championship title, Kang earned 15.000 world rankings points along with the $2,500CDN first prize cheque. Kang move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 8.812 points improving upon their best 5 results so far this season, ranking 37th overall with 96.235 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Kang ranks 20th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 89.938 points earned so far this season.
