Sergio Vez (San Sebastian, ESP) finished 2-3 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Vez lost 6-2 to Jan Iseli (Solothurn , SUI), droppimg another game, 5-4 to Loris Caccivio (Basel, SUI) where Vez responded with a 8-4 win over Gian Wildhaber (Aarau, SUI). Vez won 9-6 against Mathias Genner (Kitzbuehel, AUT). Vez went on to lose 7-1 against Fredrik Nyman (Solleftea, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.

Vez earned 1.125 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 10 of the event schedule, Vez did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Vez ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
