Jamie Smith/Wyatt Small (Waterloo, ON) lost 6-5 to Jessica Zheng/Victor Pietrangelo (Niagara Falls, ON) in the Final of the FISU Mixed Doubles Qualifier, held October 18 - 21, 2024 at the Saville Community Sports Centre in Edmonton, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Smith/Small won 5-4 over Cate Fitzgerald/David McCurdy (Halifax, NS) in the semifinals
 
Smith/Small finished 5-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Smith/Small defeated Anna Munroe/Steven Leong (Edmonton, AB) 9-4, then won 11-4 against Kate Ector/Justice Jacques (Calgary, AB) and 7-6 against Gracelyn Richards/Johnson Tao (Edmonton, AB). Smith/Small won 8-2 against Emily Neary/Dylan Hancock (St. John’s , NL), then won 10-2 against Maria Fitzgerald/Caelan McPherson (Halifax, NS) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Smith/Small ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
