Matias Hanninen (Hyvinkaa, FIN) finished 3-4 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hanninen lost 7-6 to Ireland's John Wilson, then responded with a 6-4 win over Eduard Veltsman (Tallinn, EST). Hanninen won 10-5 against James Pougher (Hawarden, WAL). Hanninen went on to lose 9-7 against Jacob Schmidt (Hvidovre, DEN). Hanninen lost 9-5 to Eddy Mercier (Megeve, FRA) where Hanninen responded with a 10-5 win over Reto Seiler (Sofia, BUL). Hanninen went on to lose 11-1 against Konrad Stych (Walbrzych, POL) in their final qualifying round match.

Hanninen earned 1.125 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 17 of the event schedule, Hanninen did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Hanninen ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
