Kim Schwaller (Oberwallis, SUI) finished 5-4 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Schwaller lost 6-5 to Jan Iseli (Solothurn , SUI), then responded with a 6-3 win over Felix Luethold (Wildhaus, SUI). Schwaller won 8-5 against Manuel Jermann (Basel, SUI), then won 8-6 against Michael Brunner (Bern, SUI) and 8-2 against Gian Wildhaber (Aarau, SUI). Schwaller went on to lose 8-7 against Marco Hoesli (Glarus, SUI). Schwaller lost 10-2 to Yannick Schwaller (Geneve, SUI) where Schwaller responded with a 9-3 win over Brunner. Schwaller went on to lose 7-5 against Schwaller in their final qualifying round match.
