Laycock finished 7-1 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Laycock defeated Logan Ede (Saskatoon, SK) 10-2, then won 10-4 against Dustin Kalthoff (Saskatoon, SK) and 9-5 against Charley Thomas (Saskatoon, SK). Laycock won 9-6 against Jason Jacobson (Saskatoon, SK), then won 7-6 against Kleiter. Laycock went on to lose 9-8 against Dylan Derksen (Saskatoon, SK). Laycock responded with a 5-4 win over Kelly Knapp (Regina, SK). Laycock won 8-4 against Bradley Moser (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the SaskTel Tankard, Laycock take home 13.750 world rankings points, moving up 9 spots the World Ranking Standings into 60th place overall with 58.469 total points. Laycock ranks 64th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 41.875 points earned so far this season.
