Norway's Lukas Hostmaelingen won 8-4 over Caden Hebert (Eau Claire, USA) in the Final of the FISU World University Games, held January 15 - 23, 2025 in Turin, Italy. To advance to the championship game, Norway's Lukas Hostmaelingen won 7-4 over Jan Iseli (Solothurn , SUI) in the semifinals of the 2025 FISU World University Games in Turin, Italy;

Norway's Lukas Hostmaelingen finished 8-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Norway's Lukas Hostmaelingen defeated Hebert 4-3, then won 12-2 against Axel Landelius (Mjolby, SWE) and 8-5 against Iseli. Norway's Lukas Hostmaelingen won 8-3 against Great Britain's Arran Thomson, then won 8-6 against Eduard Nikolov (Kyiv, UKR) and 8-3 against Tianyu Meng (Harbin, CHN). Norway's Lukas Hostmaelingen won 10-4 against Josh Bryden (Regina, CAN). Norway's Lukas Hostmaelingen went on to lose 6-4 against JaeBeom Lee (Uiseong, KOR). Norway's Lukas Hostmaelingen responded with a 9-2 win over Giacomo Colli (Trentino, ITA) in their final qualifying round match.
